Small screen TVs from
Toshiba are probably best suited for the second room or kitchen, for not only are they affordable, but are efficient as well. The
Toshiba Regza 22AV615DB 22” LCD TV is one such TV that one can simply buy with eyes closed for the second room. This
cheap LCD looks average and is close to Hanspree's plasticky panels that we're so dead against. But somehow, one tends to shrug it off, after all, its Toshiba and when placed in the kitchen, who's going to pay attention to details anyway? Especially when the pictures in the screens are so good.
The
Toshiba Regza 22AV615DB HD Ready LCD TV manages to render seamless images inspite of lacking high-end motion handling mechanisms.
High definition images are rendered with as much clarity a screen of this size deserves, so are colours. Toshiba has definitely got to be lauded for its rendition of neutral colours that are extremely pleasing to watch. Be it subtle shades of mauve or the rich side of crimson, the 22AV615 does best.
Motion handling, as far as my judgment goes is lackadaisical, the car chase scenes in Tokyo Drift were pretty dull. The outlines of the screaming vehicles had an irritating fuzziness about them, which spoiled the entire effect. Other than that, the 22AV615DB did not have any major issues concerning the pictures. Connectivity can also do with a bit more, for there's just one HDMI.
Verdict:
The Toshiba Regza 22AV615DB is no stunner. But it delivers as much as one would expect from a TV this size.
