LCD TVs from Toshiba have never had a hard time impressing us. With their almost-perfect design and above average performance,
Toshiba's tellys have proved to be worth every penny spent on them. On this positive note, we start off with our Toshiba of today, the
46" Toshiba Regza 46XV635DB LCD TV. Straight away, this LCD TV begins to impress us with the refined design that is enhanced by the 'boomerang' desktop stand. This TV is loaded with a rich array of features from Toshiba like Active Vision M100HD Pro, Auto View and Resolution Plus, to name a few.
Of these, Resolution Plus is my favourite, it tactfully manages to render standard definition with minimum possible source noise and maximum clarity. You can also tweak this feature to suit your taste, which is a huge plus. My next favourite is Auto View, that adjusts the backlight according to the lighting conditions of the room. An ambient light sensor is used for this purpose, which actually works wonders. Audio is a decent affair, the 46XV635DB does not let us down in that aspect, so HD movies are an experience in the 46" screens, with clarity, detail, deep black levels and mellifluent sound adding on to the experience.
The
Toshiba Regza 46XV635DB HD Ready LCD TV delivers sports and action with minimal blurs and judders, all thanks to the 100Hz processing. Further to its credit is connectivity, like 4 HDMIs, a USB port, a PC port and an SD card slot for JPEG photos. The 46XV635DB features Integrated Dolby Volume Toshiba which according to Toshiba, 'stops those annoying changes in volume levels' when we channel trot. This Toshiba
LCD TV also sports an Eco panel that supposedly consumes less power than the conventional LCD TVs. On a wind up note, the Toshiba Regza 46XV635DB LCD TV is comely and very becoming, if you overlook a few bugs here and there.
