A 26” LCD TV with an integrated DVD player always comes in handy. And when one such comes form a brand such as Toshiba, it is needless to say that its a darn good haul. We're talking about the
Toshiba Regza 26DV665DB 26” LCD TV. This
cheapest LCD is pretty good looking, with a simple short-necked stand and the usual smooth black finish, the only new aspect being the speaker mesh at the bottom edge. The DVD player is housed at the side, which is a good move as far as aesthetics are concerned. Toshiba has managed to squeeze in the DVD player and yet maintain a certain degree of sleekness.
The
Toshiba Regza 26DV665DB HD Ready LCD TV boasts 2 HDMIs apart from the usual S-video, component and composite video ports. The screen can also double as a computer monitor, given the PC input. DVD playback, it must be said is excellent. I couldn't take my eyes of my Michael Jackson: This Is It DVD (but of course!) In fact, I spent about a half of an hour of my research time goggling at the screen. Michael's moves that you can die for were amazing to watch, never did I feel that the TV didn't do justice. Michael was as good as ever, I still can't believe that he's not there. Sigh!
Lets move back to more mundane matters (like the handsome TV in front of me!) This
Toshiba LCD TV has a display resolution of about 1366 x 768 pixels and the brightness level is said to be 500cd/m2. It was only later that I noticed significant noise around the edges of the picture, not to mention the awkward rendition of audio. Tuning into the built-in digital tuner, I found the pictures presentable, if not stunning. The Toshiba 26DV665DB LCD TV could make for a decent second room TV, the built-in DVD player showing it in good light.
