Toshiba Regza 19DV665DB LCD TV

toshiba-regza-19dv665dbKnown for its potential to balance performance and affordability, Toshiba has always been one of our favourites. So we look at the 19DV665DB, their 19” métier that's landed on our worktable with partisanship, even though we try our best to avoid it. The Toshiba Regza 19DV665DB 19" LCD TV has been given a comely attire – one that gleams with sophistication and style. Well, this Toshiba LCD TV is no svelte stunner, but is good looking in its own way. And when placed in the kitchen or bedroom, it surely will be a head turner. If it doesn't turn heads for the looks, it's bound to do so for the pictures that breeze across the screen. The Toshiba Regza 19DV665DB HD Ready LCD TV comes across with an all-round performance. It does what's best with the screen resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. Images are decent, though not exceptional. Action scenes seem to suffer from a little of flickering around the edges and the lighter shades appear to lack life. But the TV manages to render the brighter shades very well – the essence of deep reds and fresh blues is captured with finesse. The DVD player is of course of very good quality and it's placement is comfortable as well. With regards to audio, the Toshiba Regza 19DV665DB LCD TV slips. To us, the audio sounded scratchy at the edges, not to mention unevenness in the modulation of voices. The built-in digital tuner is an added advantage and it also supports the playback of DivX version 6. Connectivity is lacking, for there's just one HDMI port. Verdict: Though not that ultimate perfect small-screen LCD TV, the Toshiba Regza 19DV665DB has quite a lot of good things to brag about. But the audio is one big pain. If only it were better!
