Deep amidst the white recesses of north pole, where no human's pokey eyes can reach, is a golden castle bedecked with more lights than the Christmas tree. But if you made your way to the curtainless window in the west corner on your tiptoes, you can sneak a peek of a view so gala and full of life. Laughter and singing will leak out if you placed your ears on the glazed window and a tiny voice calling “Hey Santa, have a look at this!”, might also reach your lucky ears. The chubby bearded man will be at work with his faithful elves, putting together gifts for children all over the world. Tooth fairies and pixies will also lend a hand, for it's almost time for Santa to rev up his sleigh!
Amidst the running of tiny feet and the flapping of silvery wings, lays a huge red bag in the corner – Santa's bag. The thing is filled up to bursting; but our object of interest is a white rectangle that lies on top of the pile. On close inspection, we realise that it's an

Sony's 'Design TV' range, the design of this TV is attractive indeed; in fact it's a highlight. Finished in a snowy white, this
19 inch LCD TV comes tinged with a variety of colours around the frame, so you can colour coordinate it to your room.
As far as picture quality is concerned, the KDL-19S5710 comes across with a neat performance, if not stunning. I say so because, colours are not all that a pleasing affair and black levels are a let down. The Batsuit's scalloped cape in Batman Begins looks more grey than black. The essence of darkness that dominates the entire movie is somehow not captured completely. But then again, pictures are sharp and seamless, which can be attributed to the
BRAVIA ENGINE 2.
This TV has a dynamic contrast ratio of 8000:1 and a 1366 x 768p display resolution. It sports 2
HDMIs and features like 24p True Cinema, USB Photo Viewer and USB Music Player are pleasant surprises for a TV of this size. Also integrated are MPEG-2 and cable tuners. Dolby Digital sound from the two 5W speakers, though crisp, lacks perfection. But then, given the looks and portability the KDL-19S5710 makes the extra pounds spent on it worth it.
