A lazy gust of wind makes the blinds perform a slow, clattery dance. The tall figure moves across the room in swift strides, takes a peek at the window and returns back to smoking his pipe. It’s way beyond midnight and the road is empty but for a few night travelers in speeding cars. There is not a sound to be heard in the room but the occasional cough of the lone man in the room. Just when he walks towards the window for the umpteenth time that evening, there is a slight tap on the door. He hesitates, then opens the creaking door slowly. ‘BANG!’ A blinding light accompanied by a sound as loud as hell - gun shots. The man is agile. For he manages to grab his gun and run towards his car. He is hurt and must rush to the hospital.
Thus begins the most amazing car-chase scene – The tall dude finally gets killed, but I must tell you, 8 or so cars fly at top speed across a hill-road in the back drop of the night-sky – what a scene! Intermittent gun shots and screaming tires. Wow! - I’m still smitten by this movie I watched over the weekend. And, the reason why I’m bringing up this particular scene is that, in no television have I enjoyed a fast-paced car chase as much – thanks to my Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5500 46” LCD TV. The Motionflow 200Hz engine of this TV is amazing. One can’t help but fall for this feature of this TV. You don’t miss even the slightest thing of all the action.
This TV looks stunning and is stunning too. Sleek and elegant, the KDL-46Z5500 oozes panache. It has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, dynamic contrast ratio of 100000:1 and has the BRAVIA ENGINE, all of which promise high contrast, smooth images. Colours are true-to-life, black levels are deep and rich. The night sky in the car-chase scene was rendered absolutely brilliantly. The Advanced Contrast Enhancer renders perfect contrast levels, and the 24p True Cinema feature is yet another appreciable feature due to which the movie that I watched was as enjoyable as that of one watched in a theatre.
Audio of the Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5500 Full HD LCD TV is decent enough, the total audio output being 20W. The S-Force Front Surround system works wonders for this LCD TV, making a movie watching experience thoroughly enjoyable. Coming to the connectivity options, this TV has 4 HDMIs, a USB 2.0, including others like PC input and RF In. Sony’s renowned Picture Frame Mode is not missed in this telly and so is USB Media Player. The Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5500 is a package of everything good one would expect in a high-end TV – looks, good video and audio quality, and yes, um, did I mention that this TV costs almost £1650? Now, do you want to own one? The choice is yours.
