With an almost empty purse and an ice-cream cone in your hand, you walk to a near-by park, relishing the last few days of the holidays. Christmas is over, and you probably have to work like a dog to re-fill you bank account. At a time like this, if there can be anything that can make you empty the remains of your purse and still be happy that you did, it is the Sony Bravia KDL-32W5710 32″ LCD TV. To begin with, the TV looks elegant in a neat piano black finish with sharp angles and a touch of silver along the bottom edge of the frame. True, we have seen better looking LCD TVs, but it can’t be denied that though nothing special, the KDL-32W5710 does have style.
The Sony Bravia KDL-32W5710 HD Ready LCD TV is jam-packed with features. (It better be, given the high price!) It of course has a Full HD resolution and a quoted dynamic contrast ratio of 80000:1. The minute you set eyes on this TV’s pictures, you can’t help but be awed. The quality of DVD movies is excellent, sharp and well-defined, the on-screen characters appear to have chiseled features. Colours are natural, with even the subtlest of shades not lacking in lusture. HD sources are a pleasure to watch in the 32″ screens of this LCD TV, there are hardly any blurs at all. In case you tend to catch sight of them, you’ll realise that occur rarely and are least visible.
Audio is average, but connectivity is excellent. The highlights include 4 HDMIs, a USB 2.0 input and a PC input, so the screen can also double as a computer monitor. Another significant aspect of the the performance of the KDL-32W5710 is its motion rendition. Action is fluid and natural, which can be attributed to the Motionflow 100Hz engine. This Bravia can also be used as a picture frame when idle and you can transfer data from USB devices onto the TV using the USB Media Player and enjoy your favourite photos and videos on the big screen. This pricey telly from Sony has a lot to offer, but the price is a big turn off.
