Sharp LC26SH7EBK LCD TV

sharp lc26sh7ebk Sharp LC26SH7EBK LCD TVNever have Sharp’s LCD TVs disappointed us. Though we’ve come across pretty average ones in the past, we have always found something in them to distract our critical eyes. But the Sharp LC26SH7EBK 26 inch LCD TV, we’re sorry to say is totally un-Sharp. If the design is second-grade, the performance is even worse. The TV looks rather chunky, with thickness written all over it. True, the finish is smooth, true the edges are sharp, but something is amiss. It’s compact, though, and moving it around the house wouldn’t be a problem.

Advanced Super View LCD TV‘ is how Sharp labels this TV, which according to me, the LC26SH7EBK does not deserve. The simple reason being, it is far from advanced. The TV sports a 1366×768 pixel resolution and the dynamic contrast ratio quoted is 8,000 :1. Featuring Picture engine 50Hz, the pictures of this LCD TV are acceptable, given the cost and screen size. There are 2 HDMI ports and we plugged in our Blu-Ray player for a trial and were pretty much disappointed. For gaming though, the 26 inch screens should do good.

Freeview quality is average, but its the quality of standard definition that comes as a pleasant surprise. We also happened to skim through the instruction manual which failed to answer a few of our questions. However, audio is where the Sharp LC26SH7EBK LCD TV lets us down big time. No matter how high you turn the volume, it appears rather muffled and scratchy. The timbre of voices is also affected and bass in also handled without expertise. The LC26SH7EBK is definitely not for those looking for a perfect HD experience. If cost it a matter, you can always try the Samsung LE26B450 which is pretty much of the same price. And incase you’re ready to cash in a few extra quids, the Philips 26PFL3404D/12 is a good option.
