sharp-aquos-lc-46lu700eSharp has always been a saviour for those wanting good quality without leaving a gaping hole in their pockets. And, for those who always wanted to board the LED bandwagon but couldn't even dream spending the fortune that the sleek things demanded, Sharp again was the answer. So here we are, sitting in front of the Sharp Aquos LC-46LU700E LED TV and marveling at how Sharp managed to give it it's best and still keep the price at an all time low. Have we ever dreamed of an under £1,000 large-screen LED TV? Well, with Sharp, anything is possible. The Sharp Aquos LC-46LU700E 46” LED TV has a Full LED backlight system – so we're assured of deep blacks and bright whites. For our trial run, we tried out Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and were we wowed or what! The riot of colours of the movie was amazing to behold – we were thrilled indeed. Marty, our good ole' rackety zebra appeared to be the best of the lot – the depth of his black and white stripes and the spark in his eyes were brilliantly delivered. The LC-46LU700E has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a whopping contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. The TV is HD ready 1080p, so movies in the 46” screens are sure to be a treat for the eyes, what with almost zero motion blurs due to 100Hz technology. Other goodies of the Sharp Aquos LC-46LU700E include Freeview, Aquos link and Ultra low power consumption. This LED TV however, is not without its flaws. And speaking of flaws, its the sometimes-tinny audio that stands out. Other than that though, the LC-46LU700E is pretty good. Verdict: The Sharp Aquos LC-46LU700E is a blend of a lot of good things – clean pictures, neutral colours and deep blacks. If the audio is improved just a wee bit, it would be a masterpiece.
