King Sized LCD Hits UK markets

The 108” mammoth LCD display from Sharp Electronics is the largest LCD Television in the world. Being launched long back in CES 2007, it was brought into light in IFA 2008, and was paraded in CES 2009 also. Now after couple of years, this gigantic display is debuted in the UK in the Visual Innovation Showcase along with some other visual delights. This show was organised by PSCo, one of the TV Distribution Specialists in Imperial college, London. Some of the titans in telly world was unveiled in the show, which enthralled the technofreaks gathered.

Sharp 108” LCD Television was not designed mainly for commercial market. It was reported that this ginormous screen is used in a cinema foyer in Japan. Sharp Aquos LB 1085 LCD TV popularly known as Sharp 108” LCD TV comes with an eye-popping price tag of £100,000! Though the Sharp television is only four times the size of a normal LCD TV, the price is little more than 4 times the normal one. Many will be wondering about the sales of this elephantine screen in the present scenario when the market is cribbed by the economic melt down.

Installed in Knightstores last night, it will be stocked in the super rich stores of UK. Will this big-screen be superseded? According to the PSCo officials, the chances for a bigger LCD are low. These behemoth displays are more to be showcased than to be used as a display. You never know if the ludicrously rich celebs ever fantasize for a display matching the size of their mansions! Hence chances for a much colossal display superseding the existing tycoon are also there.
