It was one of those mundane days when you think if you've been programmed to function like a robot. Going over the same old routine, I never expected a sweet surprise to be waiting by my work table. And this sweet surprise was glossy and rectangular, with a tinge of crimson at the edge – The
Samsung LE55B651 55” LCD TV. The minute I clapped eyes on the glossy rectangle, I knew my day was saved. And so I set about exploring it, inch by inch, and wish to share every detail. It's the transparent neck that gives the already classy design more class,if that's possible. The TV gleamed so much that I felt it tentatively, fearing that my profane hands would begrime the godly terrain.
My finger-prints immediately marked the smooth surface – that's when I realised that this beauty comes with a price. Moving on, I studied the HDMI connectivity and learned that the
Samsung LE55B651 has three on the rear and one at the side. It's was time for me to try out my collection of Blu-Rays – boy, was I excited. This
LCD TV definitely met my expectations – if not 100%, let's say, 90%. HD quality was amazing – but there was this disturbing thought about the whole rendition having an artificial edge to it. However, after a few tweaks of the 'Sharpness' control the feeling vanished.
Switching to my all time fave, The Fast and The Furious to study motion handling, I was very impressed. I reckon the 100Hz Motion Plus feature to be responsible for this. After fooling around with a few more Blu-Rays, I switched to
Freeview and found the over all quality of the picture to be very nice. By this I mean the whole thing – contrast, brightness and colours. But there's this thing about colours though – blues and reds appeared a little over-saturated – an problem which even control tweaks couldn't address. The Internet @ TV feature is all high-end and advanced, I do agree. But I felt a little tied down, you can access the internet, but only to a certain extent which at least for people like me is insufficient.
Verdict:
In the end, the Samsung LE55B651 LCD TV did turn out to be one of my favorites. This
Samsung LCD Television does have it flaws, but come on, the big guy deserves some leeway. Especially since he's so good.
