If you’re an avid Samsung fan and love anything that has even the slightest of ‘Samsungish’ touch, then the LE37B550 could win a direct ticket to your living room. The TV is part of Samsung’s Series 5, so you can expect a mix of everything, for it’s a series that’s known for its balance of affordability and efficiency. Samsung LE37B550 37” LCD TV – it’s glimmery and elegant, complete with a translucent crystal neck that has been in our good books right from the start.
This
Samsung LCD TV is extremely well connected – there is a total of 4 HDMIs (with one at the side), an RF input and a PC input to name a few. The TV has a nice ‘Game mode’ which is bound to take gamers in to the thick of all the action. Moving on to pictures, the first aspect that deserves a special mention is colours that are natural as ever. Samsung implements a unique 3D colour stretching technology called Wide Colour Enhancer 2 that gives every pixel a touch of nature’s magic. So the result is that of brilliance.

LCD TV sports a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and an SRS Trusurround HD sound effect system combined with Dolby Digital Plus. But audio isn’t all that amazing – there were times when we felt that voices sounded flat. Bass-filled tracks also seemed to fall short. However, the LE37B550 makes up for the lackadaisical audio with its pristine pictures. Not once do you catch any flaw, be it 24p judder or motion blur.
Verdict:
It’s funny that in spite of the few flaws here and there, the Samsung LE37B550 LCD TV does not disappoint in any big way. Oh well, only Samsung can do that, eh?
