0

Overview

The Samsung LE32M73B looks absolutely stunning with its sleek, glossy frame with flowing lines. Adding to the appeal is a stand which allows it to “swivel” both ways. The pictures are sharper, brighter and crystal clear thanks to the dynamic contrast ratio of 6000:1 , providing better overall black level and the DNIe image engine which improves the overall detail of the image.

The display features

Samsung have done a great job on the display in the M73 series. The display now has a 178 degree viewing angle. The display has a refresh rate of 100 Hz and a response time  of 8 ms providing smooth, flicker free action sequences. This model can display upto  25.6 billion colours compared to 12.8 million in other models, thanks to the new 10 bit signal processing coupled with gradation in the backlight CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent lamp). The display also features XWCG (extended Wide Colour Gamut) technology which employs a new Extended Wide colour CCFL(backlight) to cover almost 138% of the total colour range represented by the PAL broadcasting standard. This translates to rich, vibrant and true to life colours. To see the difference just compare the M73 series with any other previous models of Samsung. This model is HD ready with a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It can display a variety of HDTV formats including 720p and 1080i.

Audio features

Samsung have considerably improved their sound quality. The LE32M73B has two camouflaged speakers located beneath the display, which pump out 10 Watts of stereo output (NiCam). The SRS Tru-Surround XT sound system adds a new dimension to the sound. This makes watching movies and concerts a pleasurable experience.

 The Game mode

This TV features the gaming mode, a treat to the avid gamer, with frames rendered with absolutely no lag and flicker. Even at higher frame rates, the display does not show lag and the details are rendered to perfection. The Tru-surround system with its 3D effects, really takes the gaming experience to the next level.

Connectivity options

The LE32M73B offers two HDMI inputs to connect high definition video sources like DVDs, Blu-ray discs, set top boxes and game consoles. There are two SCART inputs to connect to DVD players and VCRs. It also has one input each for S-Video, A/V, PC, composite and component video. These sockets and inputs are located in the rear and side panel of the TV. In addition to this, M73 series models provide two slots for nine different multi-memory cards and a USB port. These sockets are located on the top of the side panel. The MMC slot supports cards from all major manufacturers.
