LCD TVs from Samsung have always proven to the best in the market with their never-disappointing performance and eye-catching design. This one here, the
Samsung LE32B554 32" LCD TV is no exception. With sharp angles, black glossiness and a transparent neck, on first look, the TV looks boringly decent. But according to Samsung, the bezel is no ordinary one; but that which can change with the viewing angle. Made up of a 'sophisticated combination of multiple colours', the bezel can produce a natural gradation. Well, now that's impressive. Though not all that obvious, you can catch sublte glimses of change in the bezel due to changes in the lighting conditions around.
The
Samsung LE32B554 HD Ready LCD TV has 1920 x 1080 pixel display resolution and the dynamic contrast ratio is simply quoted to be 'high'. This LCD TV from
Samsung does not impress us squarely when it comes to the picture quality. HD movies are nice, but when compared to Samsung's other siblings, the quality of HD is surprisingly low. Hey, but it's not all that pathetic, let me hurry to add. But with the standards Samsung has set for itself in the past, the LE32B554 struggles without success to reach it. The absence of 100Hz or a 200 Hz engine is deeply missed, for high action scenes are not all that impressive. Another blow, it is.
This telly features Samsung's DNIe+ Engine and Wide Colour Enhancer 2 technologies, as a result of which colours are given a pleasing facelift - they appear natural and refreshing. Black levels are not a let down - surprise indeed. Shadow detailing is also impressive. Connectivity saves the LE32B554's face, for there are 4
HDMIs, an RF input, an RS232C port, and a D-sub port speaking for it. The Picture-in-Picture feature is missing in the LE32B554, which again can be added to the long list of aspects missing in the Samsung LE32B554 LCD TV that only seems to be increasing in size.
