Philips 37PFL9604H/12 37” LCD TV makes one sit up straight and take note. It's an absolute pleasure to behold – my, the metallic exterior, the sheen and the sheer class of it, is simply amazing I tell you. It wouldn't even be an exaggeration to say that beating or even equaling the looks of
Philips LCD TVs is something of an impossibility. Sigh! Too bad not all of us can afford them! There's absolutely nothing ho-hum about this piece of art.
The
Philips 37PFL9604H/12 HD-Ready LCD TV is backed with the right amount of ingredients that provide for the best possible entertainment experience and more. But what impressed me most is not the seamless pictures, not the smooth as ever motion, not the out-of-the-world Ambilight, but the clear audio. For in my experience with
LCD TVs, its audio that most of them faltered with, spoiling the entire experience. But this beauty here, with its BBE sound system rendered sound with more clarity and detail than reality itself. Even the tiniest possible drop of rain or the faraway call of a bird in the background are rendered with the lucidity that only Philips can muster!
The 37PFL9604H/12 sports a display resolution of 1920 x 1080p and a dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1. If audio impressed me, the pictures are a whole new story. Whether its the work of the Perfect Pixel HD Engine or the 100 Hz Clear LCD panel, I do not know, but the sharpness of motion has to be seen to be believed. The TV is also well-equipped in connectivity with 4 HDMIs at the rear and one at the side, not to mention the USB port present at the side.
Verdict:
The Philips 37PFL9604H/12 LCD TV is a splendid performer – black levels, colours and motion are all top-class. But the price – if only it were a wee bit lesser!
