Philips 26PFL3404D/12 LCD TV
When looks matter and cost does not, Philips is the answer. With their elegant design and unique features, Philips has a lot to justify the extra cost spent on its LCD TVs. The Philips 26PFL3404D/12 26″ LCD TV is one such tellys. Philips has stuffed in quite a lot of interesting features in to this 26 incher. To start off, this LCD TV has a WXGA display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which is capable of displaying 28.9 billion colours. The dynamic screen contrast ratio quoted is 4000:1 with a response time of 5 ms.
As it is with any Philips LCD TV, the 26PFL3404D/12 HD Ready LCD TV has a multitude of picture enhancement features, like the Luminance Transient Improver, Automatic skin tone correction, Digital Noise Reduction and Sharpness Adjustment, to name a few. Given that this is an HD Ready LCD TV, it must be said that the quality of HD is indeed impressive, though its less likely for you to use a telly of this size for watching HD movies. Furthermore, the Active Control feature promises to provide an optimised viewing experience by reducing noise and enhancing sharpness and detail irrespective of the source.
Connectivity is an enviable affair with 2 HDMI inputs, a PC input and a USB port. Audio is backed by Incredible Surround technology, and it isn’t all that impressive, so to speak. The essence of say, rock music isn’t rendered well enough. Other than that though, there is nothing much to complain about the 26PFL3404D/12, for the picture quality is more than impressive for an under 27″ TV. For a second room TV, this Philips telly would be perfect, if you are ready to ignore the pinch of a few extra pounds.
