Panasonic Viera TX-26LMD70 LCD Television is one of the first steps taken by Panasonic in the 26inches LCD TV zone. A question that springs to prominence is, being a little brother to the Panasonic biggies, will this LCD TV be able to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in terms of performance and quality?
Like the other Panasonic LCD TVs, this LCD TV too has the family traits such as the V-Real 2 image processing technology, IPS Alpha LCD panel design and last but not the least, robust and stylish looks. The V-Real technology is Panasonic’s native method of optimizing the processors, drivers and display panels, to work in unison only to portray fine detailed images with vibrant and rich, yet natural hues. This technology works on “Prevention is better than cure” principle, attempting to control the causes that generate noise, rather than reducing the noise, after being generated. A rare feature with this HD Ready TV is the 1080p HD format it supports, which is usually not the case with other 26inches LCD TVs. The IPS Alpha panel, provides a wide viewing angle, both horizontally and vertically too. Entertaining guests with some programmes or even watching TV with the entire family, is made more convenient and fun, with everyone getting a good view of the screen. No more fights for the centre sofa! Another quality enhancing feature is the “Intelligent Scene Controller”, which adjusts image brightness, in accordance with the scenes. This feature promises to display good black levels during dark scenes. The absence of 100Hz processing technology, when compared to other Panasonic LCD TVs, brings a little disappointment. However, Panasonic Viera TX-26LMD70 26 in. LCD TV seems to make the most of what it has.
Moving over to the connections that the LCD TV offers, there are 2 HDMI inputs, 2 Scart inputs, both being RGB capable, a component video input, a composite video input, an S-Video input, a D-Sub PC port, an RF input, stereo audio inputs, a headphone jack, an integrated Freeview tuner and a stereo audio output. The HDMI CEC functionality, Viera Link, makes operation of AV devices connected to the TV, easy, with a single remote control.
This LCD TV has the following specifications and dimensions:-
Panel size – 26”
Native Resolution – 1366 x 768
Dynamic Contrast ratio – 7000:1
Dimensions - 658(w) x 525(h) x 216(d) mm

Though the market has seen much better, bigger sized Panasonic LCD TVs, the Panasonic Viera TX-26LMD70 Widescreen LCD TV, surely does a good job, especially when comparing its relatively low cost with the load of technologies that have been packed into it.
