If you'd rather go for a simple under 30” LCD TV instead of an elaborate 40+ incher, and would not like to compromise on anything, then the
LG 22LU7000 22” LCD TV could be a good option. This
LCD TV comes with a Built-in DVD Player which only makes things better incase you have a smallish living room. This 22 incher has a resolution of about 1366 X 768 pixels and a 8000:1 contrast ratio. Though LG has included TruMotion technology in this TV, the picture quality is just average, its on par with the small screen LCD TVs of today, if not less. So this leaves you a little disappointed.
LG says that the 22LU7000 with Built-in DVD Player is the 'perfect HD-Ready solution for anyone with limited space'. We tried the Angels and Demons DVD in the player and pretty much enjoyed the movie. LG's claim appears to be true. The presence of 2
HDMIs means that you can also connect your Blu-ray player and game consoles to your TV. Good enough I should say, but be warned that you may not have that ultimate gaming experience, though.
An interesting addition is the
Clear Voice 2 Technology that supposedly accentuates the voices in scenes with a noisy background. This feature did work, voices sounded clear and distinct. The USB 2.0 jack that is present in the side supports MP3 and JPEG formats. Audio is a clean affair, the 22LU7000 deserves a pat for this. Imagine, if it hadn't, wouldn't the whole 'perfect HD-Ready solution' claim be delusive? This LCD TV with a built-in DVD Player from LG looks promising and is affordable. For a second room TV, it can even said to be perfect.
