The LG 42LH4000 42” LCD TV looks like an expensive LCD TV, performs like an expensive LCD TV, sounds like an expensive LCD TV, but it's not! Under £620, this LCD TV from LG indeed has a good lot of features that are more than the money's worth. To begin with, this TV is HD Ready 1080p with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080p. It is furnished with 100Hz TruMotion, for blur-free action. The picture quality of the 42LH4000, though not exceptionally good, is good enough. Pleasing to the eye, brightness and contrast are also appreciable. The design of this TV is indeed interesting to talk about. By all means, it looks like a classy, pricey LCD TV, what with the bluish tinge at the bottom edge and the sharp cuts.
This LG HD-Ready LCD TV features Intelligent Sensor 2, and claims to have a contrast ratio of 80,000:1. The 42LH4000 does not disappoint in the connectivity aspect either, which includes 3 HDMIs, a USB 2.0 for MP3 and JPEG files and a D-Sub PC port among others. Another noteworthy aspect of the 42LH4000 is that, pictures with standard definition are upscaled to HD, how good is that! Audio from the two 10 W speakers is in good order too, and it functions with an SRS Trussuround system.
Feeview is yet another pro, but then, black levels can do with a bit of improvement. Also, it has Quick view, child lock with parental control, and is recommended by the Energy Saving Trust. It has a stand-by power consumption of under 1 W and weighs about 18.9kg and measures 1036 x 721.3 x 296.2mm WxHxD without the stand. Though not capable of stunning pictures and audio, an LCD TV looking this good ans costing this reasonable is bound to have a lot of takers.
