Well, having seen a variety of LCD TVs with a glossy black finish, on first sight of the LG 32LH5000 32” LCD TV, you might actually pass over the initial minutes spent in appraisal of the looks. But something sharp catches your eye – it’s the edges of the TV, my are they knife-like. So you indeed do a second take. This TV has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 80,000:1 contrast ratio. The total audio output is about 20 Watts and a Dolby Digital Decoder is present along with a SRS Trusurround system. So the audio is passable with a solid bass. There are five sound status modes including Standard, Music, Cinema, Game and Sport.
This TV has Freeview and Intelligent Sensor 2 is also present. This feature optimises the picture in accordance with the environment of the room. High definition entertainment can be enjoyed to the fullest, what with 4 HDMI inputs and the USB 2.0 port. It should also be mentioned that the LG 32LH5000 Full HD LCD TV has 100Hz TruMotion video processing that takes fast moving scenes to a higher level. It does so by displaying100 images in a second. This Full HD measures 815 x 583.8 x 223.8 mm (WxHxD) with the stand included and weighs 12.6kg.
Quick View and child lock with parental control are not missed in the 32LH5000 and furthermore, it has a power consumption of 150 Watts with the stand-by-power just under 1w. If asked whether the black levels of this TV is impressive, the answer will be in the negative. HD pictures too do not have the freshness one would expect. But with a dependable feature-set and a digestible price tag, I’m not complaining.
