LG 19LU7000 LCD TV

19lu7000-lcdtvreviews.org.ukA 19 inch LCD TV with a built-in DVD player is indeed worth considering for a second room telly. And when one such is from LG who rarely disappoints, things get even more interesting. The LG 19LU7000 19″ LCD TV is packed with so many features that are hard to come by in TVs of such a size. This LCD TV is no great looker, but is decent, nevertheless with a smooth black finish. The DVD player is easy to use and the size makes it easy to move it around. So, in terms of design, the 19LU7000 is perfect.

This LCD TV is HD-Ready, so it takes HD more seriously than many small-screen LCD TVs, which is heartening. The high dynamic contrast ratio of 8,000:1 makes you raise your eye-brows, for it’s not common for LCD TVs of such a size to quote such high contrast ratios. But when you look at the picture quality, the contrast and brightness, you realise that LG has done quite a lot to justify the quote. Pictures are vivid with very rare blurs in sport and action. Colours are a refreshing batch too. Blacks aren’t all that deep though, deep blue midnight skies tend to look a little clouded with patches of grey.

It indeed is a pleasant surprise to notice that LG has included TruMotion and Clear Voice 2 Technology in this 19 incher. But then, having included a built-in DVD player, LG has done quite a lot to make sure that movie watching is as pleasant as possible. There is a USB 2.0 slot and 2 HDMIs, so you can plug in your game console or Blu-ray player and make the most of HD entertainment. And yes, Freeview in included and the invisible speakers make their presence visible at all times! The LGĀ  19LU7000 is one of those LCD tellies that make you forget that they are mere 19 inchers!
