“Excuse me, but is that an LED TV?” “I just bought an LED TV!” “What in the world is an LED TV, mate?” Such exchanges are no so uncommon today. It looks like LED TVs have won so many hearts from the time they were first introduced. There was a little old lady next door who claimed that her son bought her 'This TV thinner than my tweed jacket! He calls it L.E.D or something.” So, here we are with yet another of these super-thin TVs, this time from Sharp – the Sharp Aquos LC40LE600E 40” LED TV. Unlike edge-lit LED TVs, this TV has rows of several LEDs arranged behind the screen that can be controlled individually. This results in oh-so-brilliant images that have such vibrant colours. Blacks are deep and velvety and the brighter areas are brought out beautifully.
The Sharp Aquos LC40LE600E Full HD LED TV has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a mega contrast ratio. So these two pack a fine picture quality. This TV has Sharp's Crystal-clear Technology whose touch is visible in the quality of the images. X-Gen panel is not missed in the LC40LE600E and brightness and contrast levels are appreciable. But then, this LED TV seems to struggle in the motion department. Motion does not flow so smoothly, one does tend to catch a glimpse of blurs here and there.
This TV has just 3 HDMI inputs, while many of it's peers have managed to give 4. And, it has a Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound system; though audio is not all that spell-binding. 'Alright, alright. What's the price?', I can hear you ask. This TV costs around £800, which is quite reasonable for a 40” LED TV.
