LG 47SL9000 LED TV

lg 47sl9000 led tv LG 47SL9000 LED TVWouldn’t it be nice to live a life without borders and conventions? Ofcourse, it would be. Well, that has a whole lot of implications to go with it, let’s deal with them some other time. For now, let’s stick to ‘borderless’ LED TVs. Sounds interesting? This time its LG who’s had us all gaping. Announced at the IFA 2009 this month, the LG 47SL9000 ‘Borderless’ LED TV looks so surrealistically seamless that you actually tend to do a second take with, “Is that thing real?” (Atleast, I certainly did!’)

LG calls this the Borderless Design TV with LED technology. What this design is all about is that, LG has used a single layer design due to which the space between the bezel and the screen is at a bare minimum. It’s true, this TV actually looks nakedly thin. With looks assured, the mention of LED backlight technology seems to hint at an excellent picture quality. The 47SL9000 has a mammoth quoted contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 and a full HD display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, all of which promise vivid colours and a clear picture.

This 42” LG LED TV has 100Hz TruMotion technology, so fluid motion can also be expected. It supports Bluetooth and has our desired 4 HDMIs. This TV also seems to be supporting the green cause, for it’s a well known fact that LED backlights consumes upto 40% less power than that of  LCD Televisions. The presence of the Intelligent Sensor 2 that auto-adjusts the picture quality according to the viewing environment will further save on power. This sleek LED TV will be available from October. And as for the most important thing, the price, we are waiting for a word from LG.
