April 24, 2007
The new shiny, flat Samsung LN-5296D LCD TV is breathtakingly beautiful. It is one of the large flat panel, HDTV enabled LCD TVs from Samsung. It looks slim with a dimension of 50.4" x 32.4" x 4.4" and weighs about 94 lbs. The uniqueness of this model is the up gradation of its dynamic contrast ratio to 6000:1. Most importantly, this TV is truly compatible with full HDTV resolution of 1080p and enriches your HDTV viewing experience. Features: The backlight source, reproduction of colours and the enhancement of viewing angles make this TV truly outstanding. Its inbuilt 10-bit video processor can form 12.8 billion colours on the screen. This TV uses Wide Color Gamut CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlight which provides a wide range of colours with great accuracy. The Super Patterned Vertical Alignment technology (SPVA) used in this TV, improves the viewing angles (up to 178 degrees) so you can view the TV at any angle from off-axis. Overall the picture quality by this TV is quite amazing with a gamut of colours and brilliant lighting. The response time has been greatly improved to 8 ms which means you can watch the fast movements on the screen without any trailing. The dynamic contrast ratio which is 6000:1 provides this TV with excellent black levels. The darker scenes look more detailed and the better brightness and contrast features give greater depth to the picture. This model is provided with Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe). This feature enables the TV to display life-like images with better details and improved contrast between different parts shown on the screen. This TV has PAP (Picture and Picture) feature so two video sources can be used simultaneously. However, you cannot do so in case of TV channels as this unit does not have two tuners to display both the channels on the screen. The new game mode in this unit will enrich your viewing experience with its great picture quality, quicker response time and improved sound features. There are 2 HDMI inputs for HDTV signals while two 4 pin IEEE 1394 ports can be used to connect HD recorders like digital VCRs. You can also connect your PC to this TV with the help of 15 pin D-sub provided in this TV. There is also a USB port so you can connect USB devices to this unit. Overall, we can say this LCD is ideal for both TV viewing and computer display. You can also compare LCD TV prices featured in our site.
