Samsung rules LCD TV market

samsung-lcdtvreviews.org.ukAccording to Display Search, a leading display market researcher, electronics giant Samsung has topped the list in LCD TV sales in the first half of this year. Reportedly, Samsung Electronics sold about 10.70 million LCD televisions in just the first six months of this year making it the first in the world to have sold more than 10 million sets in the first half of 2009. It is also indicated that Samsung beat LG Electronics and Sony in LCD TV sales this year.

It is reported that LG Electronics sold about 6.74 million LCD TV sets, taking it to the second position;  Sony sold about 6.54 million sets. Samsung hinted that they might invest in an initiative to develop energy efficient consumer products. Apparently, Samsung aims to halve the standby power consumption of it’s products from 1W.

The Korean electronics giant further indicated that they plan to halve carbon emissions from it’s manufacturing plants by 2013.
