Samsung Electronics wins Frost & Sullivan’s 2009 Award for Market Leadership of the Year

The electronics giant holds 90% share of the global LED TV market and over 22% market share in the LCD TV market in 2008. The last couple of years especially have been rosy for Samsung and it has ensured to the maintain the firm hold in the global market despite the current economic scenario. Frost & Sullivan has recognised Samsung for all its efforts in naming it the Market leader of the year, which does not come as a surprise, given the sales figures and rave reviews.

Karthik Kamalakannan, Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst said that despite the higher average selling price of Samsung LCD TVs, they are ‘are increasingly preferred’ which thus established them as ‘premium products among competition.’ Boo-Keun Yoon, the President of Visual Display Division of Samsung Electronics expressed his delight that their accomplishments in the LCD TV industry were recognised. He also added that the success of Samsung LCD TVs can be attributed to their ‘relentless pursuit of innovation’ and ability to give what the ‘consumers really want’.
