Ever heard of Azrael who was genetically bread to be a lethal assassin? The emotional Nightwing who shared a father-son relationship with Batman? Or the insanely powerful Cable? Thanks to Disney, these lesser known super-heros of Marvel Comics will now get their share of spotlight. Disney will reportedly acquire Marvel Comics, the goldmine of characters for big bucks today. The land of Mickey Mouse will now try to capitalise on Marvel’s dark horses, since most of its the well-known names have already been taken.
Bob Iger, Disney’s Chief Executive has been reported as saying that they may first use these characters to develop TV shows rather than taking the beaten path of big screen adaptations. He indicated that instead of spending millions on a movie, developing a television series will be a better idea. So, soon the ant talking super-hero, Ant-man and the strong as iron Iron man could take over our TV screens.
