Hitachi has announced their flagship models of the year: Woo Televisions in Japan.
Hitachi UT42-XP800 42” LCD Television is the 42” Woo television and is fully loaded with enhancement features and augmentation techniques. The display resolution of this television is 1092 X 1080 pixels, the holy grail in the screen resolution recently. These televisions are ultra-thin and comes with separate tuner box that helps to make them adorably skinny. The contrast ratio and brightness are optimised to render excellent images bubbling with life. The refresh rate offered by this television is 120Hz, which means the video input signal is refreshed 120 times before displaying it. This refresh rate is double than that of a conventional
best LCD and hence offers slick motion images and fluid like images that flows freely and simultaneously without any image lag or loss of display resolution.
These Woo televisions comes with separate Woo boxes which helps to transmit the data wirelessly. DLNA streaming is possible in this television. The Woo television comes with 250GB hard drive that helps to store the recorded television programs. Woo Televisions helps the user record the favourite show and store it in the television itself. Moreover the Woo station(separate tuner box) comes with SD/SDHC memory cards slot, ethernet port,
HDMI input ports, etc. HDMI inputs are considered as the futuristic connectivity option; in this television more than three HDMI inputs are provided by the manufacturers. Three inputs in the Woo station and one in the television itself. Woo station is the wire-free UWB controlled tuner that comes along with the television.

Hitachi UT42-XP800 Full HD LCD Television is the incorporation of TV version of Yahoo widgets. Hitachi officials claim that this television supports access to certain Video On Demand Services also. Apart from the HDMI inputs and ethernet ports, this television has two D4 inputs, one analog audio input and a composite video connection. Optical digital audio output and telerecording output is located in the television itself. The release date of this television in Japan is expected to be mid-october. No details about the pricing and release date in other countries are not yet revealed.
