Hannspree ST251MAB LCD TV

hannspree st251mab Hannspree ST251MAB LCD TVHannspree’s LCD TVs are not complete winners performance-wise, but they’re cheap and are well suited if you’re looking for a budget second room TV. The Hannspree ST251MAB 25” LCD TV has a 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution, which is pretty rare for a 25” LCD TV. But to be honest, the 1080p standard in a screen this size is not exactly well thought out. Hannspree quotes a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a luminescence of 300 cd/m². To talk about the looks, the ST251MAB has a glossy black finish which is not exactly eye-catching. Its one of those smudgy-fingerprints susceptible panels that can be a bit annoying.

The Hannspree ST251MAB Full HD LCD TV as expected, did not bowl us over with its performance. The main problem is backlight bleed and non-uniformity. Say, in an hour into viewing, you tend to catch glimpses of the backlight atleast thrice, which of course is bad. Freeview rendition is not free from blurs, so is the rendition of HD sources. Black levels and whites, however, show significant improvements and the wide viewing angle makes things better. High speed action is, forgive me, pathetic. The wheels-screaming, adrenaline-rushing scenes in Tokyo Drift appeared rather dull and pixilated.

The ST251MAB can also be used as a computer monitor, for it has a PC port. There are 2 HDMIs, which is pretty generous, considering the cost. Colours in the screens of this 25 incher appear rather gaudy, lacking in finesse and body. Skin tones look artificial, lacking any natural lusture. Audio is average, if not a complete let down. The Hannspree ST251MAB will definitely nettle you if you’re looking for a feature full set that comes cheap. But then for a bloke who prefers low price over performance, this LCD TV could well be the perfect choice.
