Samsung introduces 55″ 3D TV prototype

October 22, 2009

3d-entertainment-lcdtvreviews.org.uWith almost all the major brands talking 3D, Samsung has come up with a 55″ prototype of these high-end TVs. According to Samsung, they have overcome the problem of ‘blurring’ that most 3D TVs appear to suffer from. They have applied an ‘alternative framing technology’ due to which the eyes benefit from a different perspective using shutter glasses.

Indeed, the requirement of any additional apparatus does raise doubts on the dissemination of 3D TV in the market. Experts are also of the opinion that 3D TVs will flourish only if the necessity of additional glasses is eliminated. Several other manufactures including Samsung are working on the special kind of ‘autosteroscopic’ displays that give the 3D effect without the glasses. Hitachi has already come up with a Full Parallax 3D TV, that was introduced at CEATEC 2009. This is a 10″ 3D TV that lets you experience 3D without the bulky goggles.

As consumers, all we have to do is keep our fingers crossed and hope that such TVs hit the market before our hair turns grey!
