Futuresource predicting 4 Million 3DTV sales by the end of 2010
Futuresource (an expert research and knowledge based consulting) has announced that 3D LCD television sales is likely to exceed 4 million by the end of 2010. It has also predicted that the figures could double by the end of 2011. In UK alone, sales have reached 120,000 and could be half a million in numbers by the end of 2011. Futuresource goes on to say that the first year of the 3DTV‘s début did much better than any other previous models like the HDTV.
Manufacturers initially feared that the announcement of ’3DTVs without glasses’ from Toshiba would tempt consumers to wait for the model but then it was not expected to be released very soon and it would take many years before the technology could come to terms.
These researches would boost the confidence of 3D manufacturers. It would also encourage consumers to purchase the product.
