3D TVs from Vizio?

December 4, 2009

vizio-logo-lcdtvreviews.org.ukHere we go again with yet another consumer electronics company dipping it’s toes into the 3D TV sector. This time around, the tidings is from USA and the company is Vizio. Reports from reliable sources suggest that Wistron Corporation, an original design manufacturer based in Taiwan received orders for 3D TVs from Vizio. Vizio is apparently planning to manufacture 3D TVs in 2010 which will cost lesser than the ones from brands based in Japan. However, there has been nothing officially said by Vizio or Wistron.

Wistron has supposedly signed an agreement with  Dynamic Digital Depth (DDD), a company that provides expert stereo 3D solutions and acquired 15% stake in the company. Wistron has also apparently paid $1.34 million USD to use DDD’s TriDef 3D technology which will be used on laptops and LCD TVs.

Meanwhile, Sony has indicated that Internet Video Bravia LCD TVs will be launched in 2010, while Samsung has come up with a 55” prototype of a 3D TV.
