3d tv 3D TVs to eat up the rest of the TV world by 2015?If you thought 3D TV was just another of those technical advancements that’ll take ages to win the heart of the common man who turned to mobile phones only after every soul in the world did, you’re probably wrong. At least, that’s what a recent research says. Speaking of research, it’s pretty obvious that every research company out there is focusing on 3D television right now. (Come on, you can’t afford not to ride along all the hype!)

Several of such companies have been burning their midnight oil to come up with 3D TV numbers that will be sold over the coming years. Insight Media has predicted that about 50 million 3D TVs will be sold by 2015 while research and consulting firm iSuppli has predicted the sales to cross 78 million units. The vast difference between the predictions of the two firms reflects the 3D technology dubiety. While some believe the technology will thrive, there are some who doubt it, the main reason being the cost factor.
