how to fix scratched lcd How to Fix a Scratch on an LCD ScreenScratches in the screens of an LCD TV can be extremely unsightly. The darn things can spoil a seamless screen and annoy you down right. Though you cannot make the scratches disappear, there are a few things you can try to conceal them. Here they are:

Method – 1:

Vaseline, the age-old petroleum jelly is a magic portion that can obliterate those ugly scratches on the LCD TV screen. Switch off the TV and clean the screen well to remove dirt. You can use a cleaning solution to do so. Apply some Vaseline over the scratch, making sure its entire surface is filled in completely with it. Remove excess Vaseline if any. This should do the trick. However, you might need to redo the process once the applied Vaseline wears off.

Method – 2:
The next method is the most simplest but, trickiest of all. Clean the surface of the screen and make sure its dry. Take a pencil graphite-free eraser and gently rub it over the scratch. It should disappear after a few gentle strokes. Be very careful when you do so as this could enhance the scratch.

Method – 3:

  • For the next method, you will need a few things such as:
  • A dry cleaning cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • A swab of cotton
  • Water

Mix 3.5% of rubbing alcohol with water to make a cleaning solution. Set it aside and clean the problem area before you begin. Dip a swab of cotton in the cleaning solution and gently apply it over the scratch using smooth, soft strokes. The scratch will slowly disappear as the anti-glare coating will dissolve in the solution and fill-in the scratch. Remove the alcohol once the scratch disappears using a cleaning cloth.
