Wouldn’t the oohs and aahs even out all the effort?
You can connect your laptop to your LCD TV using:
-
VGA Cable
-
DVI connection
-
S-Video cable
-
HDMI ports
-
Scan Converter Box
Method – 1:
Since most of us own an HDTV, the easiest method to connect it to a laptop is by using the VGA port of the TV with the help of a VGA cable. Belkin VGA cables are available online for as low as £3, so grabbing hold of one wouldn’t be a problem.
Method – 2:
Check if your laptop has an S-Video port (Most laptops are equipped with a 7-pin S-Video port) If yes, go ahead and buy yourself an S-Video cable. Most TVs are equipped with this port, so this method is again, really easy. But if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, you will have to connect it using some other method.
Method – 3:
In case you’re looking for high quality picture and are ready to sweat out a few extra pounds, then DVI cable will be just perfect for you. This connection will assure you of better video quality than that of VGA and S-Video. However, this port can only be found in HDTVs.
Method – 4:
Finally, you can also connect your laptop to your LCD TV using a Scan Converter Box. This box is mostly used for presentations and lectures and is easy to install. The device converts VGA input in to composite or Super Video and can be purchased online for almost £250.
