Tribute To The Reality TV Star Jade Goody
Jade Goody, the reality TV star dies after losing the courageous cancer battle last day. At present televisions are constantly updating the news on Jade Goody’s death. For most of us sitting back and watching the updates in our LCD televisions, Goody is finally freed from the limelight. Goody’s life was more like a roller-coaster ride with unpredicted ups and downs. From an ordinary dental nurse to the glam world of television and reality shows; it was more like a fairy tale, too good to be true. The Big Brother third series changed her life upside down in 2002 and she rose into the world of fame and glamour which extended to seven years.
Being the offspring of two drug addicts, Jade’s childhood was never a happy one, and so was her schooling. Her life was more like a media circus, and the same continued till her last breath. She secured her sons’ future by letting the living digital TV portray her final weeks and her determination to fight against cancer. The best part of the media coverage is the widespread awareness against cervical cancer, which is one among the handful forms of cancer that can be prevented when detected in the early stage.

Jade Goody will always be remembered as for so many things; for the lives she saved with her public battle against cancer, as a strong lady who outwitted the dysfunctional childhood which may have broken many of us, as a charismatic woman who was always a good daughter, wife, friend and as an incredible mother too. Jade fulfilled her dreams and expired on her terms with the loved ones next to her bed. “I got Death sentence, but I dint let it kill me”, these words unveil the courage and determination of this beautiful lady. |
Jade was categorised as ultimate modern day celebrity, who lived her life in limelight, with her autobiography released at the age of 24, issued perfumes on her name “Ssh…Jade Goody” , and ranked as 25 in the Heat Magazine‘s Most Influential People in the World. Though she managed to grab only the fourth position in Big Brother Television Show in 2002, Jade rose to the world of instant stardom from the very same year. The fame, glamour and celeb outlook of Jade Goody was overshadowed by the “Celebrity Big Brother 5 Show Incident” in which she was branded as a racist for abusing and bullying her fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty. This was indeed a dark twist in her life and the very same media who raised her to the glory started tearing her down!
Over 54,000 complaints were flooded to the Channel 4 regarding these allegations, and they were forced to ban Jade out of the show. With the “girl next door” reputation damaged, she apologised in public tearfully, who was pardoned later by the fellow contestant and by the public too. After the reconciliation of the racial allegations, Jade joined the Indian Version of Big Brother aka “Big Boss” in August 2008. She was totally shaken when she come to know about the cervical cancer diagnosis, yet accepted it with utmost bravery.

She battled with the vamp fiercely, and as said in her last interview Jade always wanted to be remembered as the girl who put up the fight and as a girl who made out almost everything that life threw at her, be it good or bad! Her public battle to the dreadful disease has raised awareness among the public, and she continued to participate in the documentary series “Living With Jade” even while the hectic treatment. This resulted in a new debate among public if she is exploiter of media or the exploited one! She consented to be filmed and was shot on daily basis by digital living channel and OK! magazine, and it was all for her sons’ future.
| Jade Goody died at her home in Upshire in the early hours of dawn, and her body was taken out by 8am. She left the world leaving behind wonderful memories to her family, kinship and fans, and a lasting legacy for battling against cancer. Now the days of pain and agony is over, and she is beyond the reach to be scrutinised and criticised. Jade Goody was always in the media for past seven year as a reputed Reality TV Star, from the Big Brother third series to her marriage function with Tweed four weeks ago, and the funeral yet to be announced. Funeral function is expected to be telecasted in all major television channels. This beautiful young lady who inspired many of us with the way she dealt with the deadly disease courageously will now be living in our hearts forever. |  |
