About Freeview

DVB-T
DVB-T or Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial is European based standard for transmission of digital terrestrial television. This system transmits compressed digital video, audio and other data. It carries data in two carriers such as 2K or 8K. ‘Guard level’ is a feature in DVB-T where the receiver does not receive data for a short period when the data changes. DVB-T has been adopted by many countries for digital television broadcasting.
Requirements to get Freeview
To get Freeview extra channels, you must first of all be within the range of a Freeview transmitter. Once you are in the Freeview transmitter range, you will require a free-to-air set up box that can be purchased from any store. Next, you need to connect your TV aerial lead to the Freeview set up box and SCART lead from the set up box to the TV’s SCART socket. Before buying a set-up box, you will need to consider certain criteria such as price, connectivity and its features.
Installation
You can connect the digital box to the TV set and the roof top antenna or connect the TV to the roof top aerial. If you use set top aerial many of the set top aerials require replacement.

You can receive eight day programme information in advance so that you can make your schedule accordingly. Twin tuner digital TV allows you to record one channel programme while watching the other, pause live TV and record favourite programmes to the digital TV recorder. Some digital boxes are designed with parental lock facility that enable you to control viewing certain channels.
