Television Channels Pay Tribute to ‘King of Pop’

mj Television Channels Pay Tribute to ‘King of Pop’Death makes us think of strange things. Our mind leaps back in time, bringing things long forgotten to the fore. When Michael Jackson died on June 25, his fans and critics alike could do nothing but think of all what he did in the past. Some cried out aloud, their tears knowing no bounds, some spoke in hushed tones about his ‘regretful’ activities of the past, while some simply shrugged and said ‘too bad, but life has to go on’. But there were some, hypocrites, we call them who inspite of showering him with dislike and criticism all his life tsk-tsked and said ‘what a loss’ ‘what a legend’ ‘there can never be another MJ’. To cater to this wide spectrum of ‘MJ buffs’ and ‘MJ rebuffs’, television channels across the world have rolled out several programmes paying tribute to Jacko.

Television Channels Pay Tribute to ‘King of Pop’Shows on celebrities sharing their thoughts on Michael, on his growth from a lead singer of a family band to a super-star, on contestants performing his famous numbers and several other ‘Jacko themed’ programmes are in the line up. It looks Michael will haunt like televisions for several days after his death.

While Michael’s sister Janet Jackson might perform some of the gigs that he was scheduled to perform at O2, it is evident that television channels will have a run for their money trying to cover the highly anticipated event. London’s O2 arena might witness the Jackson 5 as the backing band, something that will give the fans of MJ to think of those days fondly with a warm smile. The performance might be a medicine for the hearts of many, while it may trigger melancholy for some.

But for most, it will be an occasion to just think of their superstar, who electrified them with his alto-soprano voice, who made them go crazy, who simply made them fall in love with him. Whatever be the outcome, it is a performance that should not be missed for any cause. After all, it will be a tribute to the gangly man, who will probably not be forgotten for centuries to come, for reasons good and bad.
