Pages are transmitted one at a time and the cycle is repeated once the transmission is complete depending upon the request made by the broadcaster. If required the broadcaster can transmit some pages frequently. Viewer can select a particular page by means of a remote handset. You cannot request for a page directly, but only instruct the decoder to search for a particular page. Teletext service is divided in to eight magazines with each magazine having up to 100 pages. A Teletext displays numbers, letters, simple graphic shapes and symbols. It displays 40 words per row so that the viewer can read the display even from a distance. Another important feature of Teletext is subtitling that is used to convey the dialogue that is spoken in foreign language. Also this is a useful feature for the hearing impaired people.
