How good a Christmas present will the Samsung UE32B7000 LED TV make?
Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to review a Samsung LED TV! Sorry about that, but I just couldn’t help singing when a Samsung LED TV is placed before me - the Samsung UE32B7000 32″ LED TV, to be more precise. With the oh-so-brilliant sales figures Samsung has churned out and the entire (almost) TV world all praise for their LED TVs, no wonder one gets all excited when reviewing one. The first aspect of the TV that we begin with is the design. Once you take in all the seamlessness, sharp cuts crystal glossiness, you tend to quip, “So this is what the whole neighbourhood was talkin’ about!” You get the picture.
The UE32B7000 is an HD Ready LED TV with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has a ‘Mega’ dynamic contrast ratio and it here that I wish to express how much this telly impressed me with its rendition of HD. Crystal-clear is the word. We watched an Indian movie using a Blu-Ray player and I must say that the lush greens and exotic beauty of the Indian landscape were rendered brilliantly. There was a sequence in which a group of dancers perform this graceful classical dance, Bharatanatyam, was what it was called. My, the movements of the lithesome dancers was delivered with finesse. The entire movie watching experience was terrific.
It’s worth a mention that the UE32B7000 features 1080 24p Real Movie and 100Hz Motion Plus, which are responsible for taking movie watching in the 32″ screens of this telly an out of the world experience. The gold-tinged Indian summer was pleasing to the eye, I should say. (I can’t stop talking about the darn movie!) Bright colours and the darker shades in the Samsung UE32B7000 were faithful to their original shades. The TV houses the WCE Pro feature which supposedly “stretches them (pixels) to their 3-dimensional limit”. For those of you who are wondering whatever this means, I’d like to add that what WCE Pro technology supposedly results in “lifelike colours”. Which like said before, is true. Colours are attractive indeed.
The Samsung UE32B7000 LED TV has 4 HDMI ports and an all-in-all USB 2.0 Movie port and supports DLNA connectivity. Then there is a widget that gives you limited access to the world wide web. But again, it is limited. Samsung’s Content Library is also present, in case you’d like to poke around when you’re bored. Audio quality is where the UE32B7000 does not score high enough. Though much better than several LCD counterparts, it can’t be denied that with such brilliant video quality, the viewer could be left with a nagging thought that something is amiss. Now, getting to the question: “Will the Samsung UE32B7000 LED TV make a worthy Christmas present?” By all means, yes.
