Very easy to set up. Programme guide for digital tv is excellent although the print is a little small and difficult to read from a normal viewing distance. However, the sound quality is absolutely awful. Sounds like a tinny transistor radio.
I agree with Richard (17th Nov). The sound is appalling. However I notice in the instruction manual page 22 (Connecting an Audio Receiver or a Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound System) it says “For better sound quality, you may want to play the LCD monitor audio through your stereo system.” They could add: “Aternatively, take it back to the shop for a refund and buy another make.”!!!
Richard is correct, the sound quality IS awful. However everything else about the TV is fine and if you route the audio through a HI FI system it is also fine. I suspect that the problem is that the speakers are cheap and nasty.
sound quality is truly awful. I am about to return it to the shop, its that bad. !!!!!
Only had the set two days and it seems OK. BIG COMPLAINT try to get a code from Sky to program the Sky controller to operate the Teac set. There is no such code they say the set is too new!! I had the same problem with a Swistec tele and finished taking it back to the supplier. Unless I can program the Sky controller soon the same will happen to my new TEAC set!! Pity because we quite like the set.
I agree with the previous comment about the sound quality, its awful, really tinny and whatever you do in the various sound modes makes no difference whatsoever, does anyone know anything that can be attached to this TV to make the sound a better quality.
I agree with Richard’s comments above; esp about the sound quality. It is so abysmal that I thought my own hearing was the problem. I find it hard to believe that I disposed of an old tv in favour of this one and I still want to believe that this tv can be adjusted to provide comfortable listening. Does anyone - even at TEAC - have a suggestion to remedy this shortcoming ? Please?!!
i purchased 3 before xmas and sound quality is very bad,The treble and bass can be changed in the menu setting but it does not change the tv, I have returned the tvs and have had 3 new ones delivered to day and they are all the same tinnie sound all going back and getting another brand
Re Teac’s sub-standard ’speaker’.. no quality control obviously - I remedied this by buying a pair of cheap computer speakers from Tesco (tecknika) and plugging them in the earphone socket - works brilliantly for £10..
I have experienced the sound problem also but got round it by adding external speakers via the head phone socket , but I find the remote control response very slow even after having it replaced with a new one.
Does anybody know the SKY code, if so please let me know.
well to be honest, with regards to the sound issues, if the shops are exchanging these for you, then you have been lucky as strictly speaking the tv’s are not faulty. They are a budget tv with small speakers, ideal for bedrooms or caravanners!! If you are looking for booming sound then purchase a bigger tv, which will have more room for bigger internal speakers or connect it through a surround sound. Its the old addage of you get what you pay for.
in a nutshell, the sound is terrible, the screen print is to small. DO NOT BUY!
I FIND THE TV GOOD THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS THAT IT IS HARD TO FIND SPARES FOR IT I’AM LOOKING FOR A REMOTE CONTROL FOR T22LID638 MODEL PART NO 846-D47-KN97XI-TEH CAN ANY BODY HELP
