Hannspree's offering of a 'serious' 19” LCD TV in the form of the ST19AMBB had my friend question incredulously, “So you mean the TV is actually a black rectangle?” Well, yes, of course it is! What did you expect? A pooch-shaped TV? (oops, they already have that!) One can't help referring to Hannspree's funky tellies, really. Moving to more serious matters now, for example the performance of the
Hannspree ST19AMBB 19” LCD TV, it must be said that Hannspree has tried to give the pictures a professional touch - that of impressive sharpness and clarity. And it works, at least to an extent.
The
Hannspree ST19AMBB wall-mountable LCD TV presents movies and high-speed action well, but somehow, adjectives such as 'brilliant' 'fantastic' and 'superb' are not apt to describe it. 'Decent' is the word. The design is one of that of standard flat-screen tellies – sharp edges with black mirror finish. But we must give it to Hannspree here – for the strip of black mesh speaker along the bottom edge of the frame does give the ST19AMBB a 'refined exterior' as Hannspree puts it.
These
19 inch LCD televisions features a resolution of 1440 x 900 and a 700:1 contrast ratio. There is just one HDMI input (oh well, there at least is one!); but a VGA input is present, so you can use the display as your computer monitor too. The ST19AMBB is also compatible with digital TV tuners and makes for a neat display for a gamer. These
LCD TVs are cheaper when compared to those from the top brands, so if you're looking for an average second room TV with pretty decent connectivity and cannot indulge in luxuries like the Samsung LE19R86 LCD TV, the ST19AMBB could be the one.
